What we collect
Your name, work email, professional details you choose to add (rank, company, sea service, certificates), photos you upload or take with your camera, posts, comments, messages, and basic usage such as which articles you open.
Why we use it
To run your profile and network, personalise your feed and regulatory alerts, verify company representatives, deliver messages and notifications, keep the platform safe through automatic content review, and measure how sponsored content performs.
Camera and photos
The camera is only opened when you tap to take a photo. Images are stored privately and shown through short-lived links; profile photos are visible on your profile, and photos attached to a post are visible with that post.
Notifications
With your permission we send push and email notifications for replies, messages and profile reminders. You can turn each of these off in Settings at any time.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We use service providers for hosting, storage, email delivery, push delivery and AI content review, strictly to operate Tideway.
Your control
You can edit or clear any profile field, delete your posts and photos, and permanently delete your account and its data from Settings. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
